When Gene was adopted in August 2016 he had been with us for eight months and due to painful arthritis required ongoing medication and special care.  It is a pleasure to post this lovely update from his adopters:

Thought you might like a bit of an update on Gene.  He came home with us early August 2016. He is now 12 years old, and although still a bit chubby you will be pleased to hear that his arthritis is under control.  Our vet put him on new medication, he has been on it for 18 months now and it has been a dream – no more stomach upsets and he is moving so much more freely.  Just a quick trip to the vet every 8 weeks for a booster shot.
Sorry all the pictures are of him snoozing but it is hard to catch him doing anything else!  We are not complaining – all we want for him is a happy retirement and I think he is managing that just fine.
